# Monthly credits (/platform/account/credits)



Monthly credits power [Quant](/platform/quant/introduction), our coding agent, and the [Backtesting Assistant](/platform/ai-backtesting/introduction). Every plan includes a monthly allowance in one shared balance, and it resets on the first of every month.

## How they work [#how-they-work]

* **One balance.** Quant and the Backtesting Assistant draw from the same monthly credits.
* **Reset on the first.** On the first of each month (UTC), your balance is set back to your plan's allowance. Unused monthly credits don't carry over.
* **Usage follows the request.** Generating and editing scripts uses credits. Bigger requests and longer conversations use more, because the whole conversation is context for every new message, so start a new chat when you move to an unrelated script.
* **Plan changes.** When you subscribe or your plan changes, your monthly credits are set to the new plan's allowance. When a paid plan ends, they drop to the Free allowance.
* **No cash value.** Credits can't be transferred or exchanged for cash.

Your remaining monthly credits and any purchased credits are shown on the **Plan & Credits** page of your account ([app.luxalgo.com/account/plan](https://app.luxalgo.com/account/plan)).

## Credit packs [#credit-packs]

With an active paid plan, you can buy one-time credit packs on the **Plan & Credits** page. Purchased credits are used after your monthly credits and stay available until used. Credit packs aren't covered by the money-back guarantee; see [Refunds](/platform/account/refunds).
