# Screener Alerts and Retirement (/platform/ai-strategy-alerts/screener-alerts)

Screener alerts are the older alerts made from Strategy Screener results. They follow a saved toolkit strategy's long entries, short entries and exits. They are separate from the Price Alerts and Custom Alerts in the chart's **Alerts** panel.

## Existing alerts [#existing-alerts]

Open **Alerts** in the app's main sidebar to find the legacy **Screener alerts** list. Review existing alerts and their notification settings there. Existing Screener alerts continue until the retirement date, subject to their status and your plan.

Do not treat a Screener alert as a Custom Alert or assume its destinations and settings have moved to the new system.

## Set up your replacement [#set-up-your-replacement]

1. Review the condition, market and timeframe of the Screener alert you want to replace.
2. Open [Vela](https://vela.luxalgo.com/chart) and ask Quant, our coding agent, to build or backtest the strategy or set up a matching alert condition.
3. Review the resulting code, condition and historical preview. Confirm that they match what you want to watch.
4. Create the Custom Alert and select its [destinations](/platform/ai-strategy-alerts/notifications). If you use automation, configure and test the new [webhook message](/platform/ai-strategy-alerts/webhooks) too.
5. Confirm that the new alert is **Live**. Pause the old alert if you no longer want duplicate notifications before retirement.
