Screenshots
Capture a chart or multi-chart layout, choose its presentation, and download an image for your notes or posts.
Use Screenshot, the camera icon, to turn your chart into an image for a review, presentation, or social post. On a wide window it sits at the top of the right-hand rail; on narrower windows it can appear in the header.
Choose what to capture
- Set up the charts and visible ranges you want to show.
- Open Screenshot.
- Choose Download screenshot for a direct image download, Copy to clipboard to paste elsewhere, or Select portion to choose an area and open Screenshot Studio.
- If more than one chart is visible, choose Entire layout or Active chart. Entire layout keeps the visible charts in their current arrangement; Active chart uses the chart you last selected. A single-chart layout does not need this choice.

For Select portion, drag over the chart or layout after choosing the scope. Press Esc to cancel. Keep the chart's price scale visible for a selected-area capture.
Prepare the image in Studio
Area, Style, and Size are segmented controls across the top of Studio:
- Area: switch between Full chart and Portion. A layout capture offers Entire layout instead of Full chart. Choosing Portion returns to the chart so you can select again.
- Style — Chart: keep the chart's original appearance, grid, and labels.
- Style — Styled: use larger symbol and price labels and Vela branding.
Under Include, Indicators controls indicator plots and labels. This control can be unavailable when there are no supported indicator plots to include.

Choose a background
Use the Background swatches with either Chart or Styled:
- None, the default, leaves out the backdrop and surrounding padding.
- Dots adds a dotted charcoal background.
- Luminous, Radiant, Spectrum, and Illuminated add a colored gradient behind the chart.
Every background other than None adds padding and a shadow. Hover a swatch to see its name.

Choose a size
In Styled, both full-chart and selected-portion captures open at 3:2. Choose Original to use the capture's own proportions, or another Size preset. Chart keeps the original dimensions, so its size choices are unavailable.
| Preset | Shape |
|---|---|
| Original | The capture's own proportions. |
| 16:9 | Wide landscape. |
| 3:2 | Landscape. |
| 1:1 | Square. |
| 9:16 | Tall portrait. |
Layout captures preserve the charts' arrangement. Check that every symbol, scale, and indicator label is readable, especially in a small portrait export. The footer shows the capture area, style, dimensions, and PNG format. Size and background choices can change those dimensions.
Download and share
Click Download PNG in Studio to save the finished image. A screenshot records the view at capture time; it does not update with the live chart. Review the image before sharing it.
To share a chart setup that someone can open and work with, use workspace sharing.
Send chart context to Quant
Use +, then Attach chart screenshot in Quant to attach an image to your request. With several charts visible, choose Entire layout or Active chart. You can also upload or paste an image.
For a specific pattern or chart detail, choose Capture area for Quant on the left drawing toolbar. Select the region and add your prompt there. See From a region on the chart.
